The Dinosaur Trail 500 is a 500 MILE, 48 hour nonstop, no drafting bicycle race. It runs through mountains, farms and the wide open spaces of central Montana. Starting and ending in Lewistown Montana, the course has roughly 20,000 feet of climbing and wind we can almost guarantee.
Racer categories are organized by sex and age, solos and 2 & 4 person teams; we also welcome a tour category and HPV's such as recumbents, hand bikes and velomobiles. The course, while challenging, does not have high mountain passes or busy streets to navigate. There are only four turns in the entire course, no loops to count nor, for much of the course, any water. For the racers or anyone riding through the night a crew is necessary for safety.
This race is not a RAAM qualifier now. This is the second time it is offered and we need to see how it goes. However, if you have ever wanted to set a record in a long distance race this may be your chance. Whatever you do, you'll be the first!

This race is supported by the Gallatin Valley Bicycle Club.
